Master & Dynamic and Applied Art Forms Launch MH40 Wireless ‘Apollo’ Edition

Our latest collaboration, the limited-edition MH40 Wireless ‘Apollo’ headphones, are designed in partnership with Amsterdam-based fashion label Applied Art Forms.

Inspired by the materials and design of 1960s Apollo-era spacesuits, this limited run—just 75 units globally—reimagines our iconic MH40 Wireless Headphones through a lens of space-age utility and tactile experimentation. It’s a meeting of sonic craftsmanship and vintage aerospace aesthetics.

“Most of our garments are developed from our collection of vintage military and workwear,” says Guy Berryman, Creative Director of Applied Art Forms and bassist of Coldplay. “But this collaboration allowed me to explore some of the details from 1960s spacesuits, which I’ve always had an obsession with.”

That obsession is apparent in every detail of the ‘Apollo’ MH40s: aged white nylon wraps the headband, tan Alcantara adds warmth to the earpads, and red and blue anodized accents subtly echo the mission-critical hardware worn by astronauts.

Founder and CEO Jonathan Levine shares, “Our first headphones, the MH40s, were inspired by WWII aviator headsets. Continuing this fascination with flight and exploration through a space-age lens made perfect sense. Of all the groundbreaking technologies that made the Apollo missions possible, clear communication between astronauts and ground control was essential. That connection—through sound—is at the heart of what we do.”

The MH40 Wireless ‘Apollo’ edition is built on the foundation of our classic MH40 silhouette: lightweight yet durable, Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity with a 100ft range, up to 18 hours of battery life, and a 50% quick charge in just 30 minutes. Coated canvas and lambskin leather details complete the look, delivering the unmistakable Master & Dynamic blend of materiality, craftsmanship, and sonic performance.

The MH40 Wireless ‘Apollo’ headphones are available in an edition of 75 units worldwide at masterdynamic.com, appliedartforms.com, and our exclusive retail partner Dover Street Market Ginza.
